subject: books by and about R. Soloveitchik December 8, 1997 A word of warning. These books come from many sources, some more reliable than others. Some of the books and articles were written by the Rav, while others are reconstructions of lectures by students, some authorized by the Rav himself and some not. Furthermore, not all the books are available. Hopefully many of these will now be reprinted. Also several articles appear in more than place. Rabbi Rakeffet has a biography of Rav Soloveitchik in references 57 and 58 at the end of this list. The Rav's sister, Shulamith Meiselman, published a memoir about her parents - The Soloveitchik Heritage: A Daughter's Perspective, Ktav, Hoboken, NJ, 1995. There is a quite complete bibliography through the late 1980s by Dr. Zanvel Klein that appeared in "The Torah U_Madda Journal" volume 4, 1993 p175-186. The list here contains some later references and does not list the newspaper articles etc. that appear there.
